By golly it was cold on our beach walk this afternoon. A strong icy wind was whipping around under a winter sunset sending up magenta washes on the horizon under pale violet clouds. The low tide waves reached way up stoney sand generating balls of foam for the dogs to chase hither thither. Grateful for the warmth of my coat, the thought of a large mug of hot chocolate on my return home progressed me along the shoreline.
I value walks like this in the winter as much as a barmy evening stroll barefoot in and out of the surf in the summer. Just me and the dogs soaking it all in - so invigorating.
